People can lie. But numbers don't. And the numbers show millions of Americans are wasting their hard earned time, money and effort on weight loss programs, personal trainers, and diets that don't work.

Did you know 49.1% of Americans attempted to lose weight last year? And, only 20% of them were successful in losing and maintaining their weight loss over 6 months?

It’s true. That means 80% failed to lose the weight they wanted. Those numbers are insane. However, those are the facts.

If you’re like one of the millions who have attempted to lose weight in the past you know exactly how hard it can be.

Waking up at 4:30 – 5:30 am when you’re dead tired, frustrated, and don’t have the energy (or desire) to meet the personal trainer you paid for.

(not to mention your body and your thoughts are screaming at you because it’s still dark outside, and, honestly, the only real thought going through your head is “what excuse can I make up that will get me out of this so I can go back to bed!”)

By some miracle, you convince yourself to go you learn, after the session that almost killed you is over, you have to start dieting.

If you’re lucky, you’ve hired a great personal trainer that can tell you what steps to take to reach that ideal image you see in your head. However, more times than not, you end up scouring the internet looking for diets to try.

Paleo, keto, weight watchers, low carb, no carb, nutrisystem, shakeology, Jenny Craig… the list just seems to go on and on… each one promising this is the way to go.

But in the end, nothing seems to work. So you end up giving up. Because honestly, what is there left to do?

But before you get too discouraged, there is good news.

After spending 96,000+ hours studying supplements, diets, exercise programs, and being the owner of a top fitness company called Foundations where my clients pay huge fees to hire me , I can tell you losing weight is actually much easier than you may think.

In this article, I’m going to reveal my top 4 secrets to losing all the weight you want… and how to keep it off.

Step 1. Determine Your Goal

Do you know how you want your body to look? Sounds like a dumb question, but it’s not. Your goal determines how you need to train in order to achieve the results you want.

The better the goal, the bigger the success. A goal to be healthy is much stronger than the goal to lose 20lbs. Health is a life long process. A weight loss goal is only a destination.

I’m not here to tell you which is best for you. It’s more important to know what the goal is.

Find an image of your ideal body (whether it’s an old picture of yourself or someone else) and look at it every day.

Imagine how you would feel living in that body. What would people say about you? What would you say about yourself?

Doing this will help create the belief that you can actually live in the body you want.

Please hear me. If you don’t take this first step seriously, you may as well quit now. Because this is what separates  those who succeed, and those who will fail. Even if you do lose weight, without knowing how you want to look… and believing you can get there, the chances of you succeeding are slim to none.

Step 2. Create An Exercise Program Based On Your Fitness Goal… And… Focus On Your Tempo.

An exercise program is nothing more than a detailed workout program and the amount of time each exercise will take.

Here’s a chart of a standard template I use for all my clients.

For the average person, you can workout 3-4 days a week for no more than 45 minutes a day.

It’s possible to communicate a lot without saying a word. For instance, I left my phone at a restaurant in Chile. I pointed at the table where I was sitting, put my hand to my ear like a phone, then shrugged — 2 minutes later, my phone had been retrieved.

Trust your intuition.

I learned to trust that tiny voice in my head a bit more. When you are alone in a foreign country and your phone is dead, you are forced to trust your intuition. Is this neighborhood safe to walk around? Is this person someone I should interact with? Am I heading the right direction? Intuition is like a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it becomes. It’s feels like a sixth sense when you’re able to read between the lines of a situation.

The world is endless. The world’s a tiny neighborhood. My fav people are the ones who can hold two impossible ideas in their heads.
